As you probably already know, Ubuntu is ditching Unity and will use GNOME as their default desktop environment instead. A lot of users are sad about the shutdown of the Unity project, but the good news is that GNOME is quite customizable because of its extension system. The following extensions are required to achieve the same result:
- Dash to Dock
- Workspaces to Dock
- Topicons plus
- Pixel saver
- Gnome global application menu (it’s still in beta, and buggy)
