Elementary OS Freya 0.3.1 Arrived With New Features & Bugfixes

The first “service pack” for elementary OS Freya has just arrived a couple of days ago. The version number is 0.3.1 and a new ISO is available for download, however if you’re already running Freya you don’t need to reinstall. All you have to do is to run your regular updates to get the new features and bugfixes (in order to get the new kernel, run sudo apt-get dist-upgrade).

This new version 0.3.1 closes about 200 reports and brings new features, tons of fixes, better hardware support, visual polish, and enhanced translations.

I already wrote an article about what new features are included in this release, but here’s a – not complete – list of new features again:

  • Workspaces in the Multitasking view also now work properly on Nvidia Optimus
  • Redesigned file chooser dialog
  • New “Recent Documents” feature in Files
  • Midori 0.5.11 web browser with GTK3 headerbar
  • New Language & Region Switchboard plug
  • Geary 0.10
  • Improvements to the overall look and feel (new icons, dark theme fixes, and so on)
  • Updated software packages and translations

PS: I’m running Freya 0.3.1 on my primary machine at the moment and I can tell it runs very well. I really like it.
