Some people tend to like Linux Mint because of it’s looks, and indeed it’s one of the distros that cares about looks. Good news is that they are improving some of their artwork. Their own Mint-X icon theme is coming in more colors and they also introducing emblems in both Nemo and Caja file manager.
Mint-X Colors
In upcoming releases Mint-X won’t only come in green, but in multiple colors: blue, grey, red, purple, pink, yellow, sand, aqua. The team is also going to create color variations of the GTK theme itself.
Nemo/Caja emblems & Folder color
The new version of Nemo (the default file manager in Linux Mint Cinnamon) is also getting some improvements along with Caja (default in Linux Mint MATE Edition). They introduces folder emblems (see screenshot below) and also let you choose different colors for each directories. Folder emblems used to be available in the good old Gnome 2 desktop environment and now they’re back.
